# Cyber Security Breakfast for Local Business

A breakfast briefing on the scams and attacks hitting Border-region businesses this year, and the handful of habits that stop most of them.

- **When:** 11 June 2026, 7:30am – 9:00am AEST
- **Where:** Albury Business Centre, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury NSW 2640
- **Category:** Technology Seminars
- **Cost:** $45 per participant

Invoice fraud, fake delivery texts and compromised email accounts are the incidents we see most across local businesses. This breakfast briefing covers what they look like and how to shut them down.

## Post-event recap

Thanks to the 30 business owners who came along before work. David Chen walked through three real (anonymised) incidents from local businesses this year — an intercepted invoice, a compromised mailbox and a ransomware scare that turned out to be a tested backup doing its job.

The single most useful takeaway, by a show of hands: **turn on multi-factor authentication for email today.** Most of the room had not.

The one-page checklist we handed out is now attached to the Help Centre.
