# Regional Connectivity and Business Resilience Forum 2025

Our first Regional Connectivity Forum brought together more than 80 business owners, council representatives and technology leaders to talk about what resilient infrastructure means for the Border region.

- **When:** 23 October 2025, 9:00am – 12:00pm AEDT
- **Where:** Albury Business Centre, 553 Kiewa Street, Albury NSW 2640
- **Category:** Industry Briefing
- **Cost:** $395 + GST per participant

The inaugural Regional Connectivity and Business Resilience Forum explored how regional organisations can plan for, and recover from, connectivity failures — and what the next five years of infrastructure investment will look like across the Border region.

## Program

- Keynote: the state of regional connectivity in 2025
- Panel: what businesses learned from the 2024 flood outages
- Workshop: building a connectivity continuity plan
- Networking lunch

## Post-event recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first Regional Connectivity Forum — more than 80 of you, from sole traders to council executives.

## What we heard

The loudest message of the morning was that resilience is a planning problem before it is a technology problem. Most of the organisations in the room had a backup connection; far fewer had tested what actually happened when the primary failed.

**Three things people told us they were taking back to work:**

- Write the outage plan down and test it once a quarter
- Put the EFTPOS and phone system on the backup path first, not the laptops
- Ask the provider what *their* resilience looks like, not just yours

## Highlights

Sarah Mitchell walked through the 2024 flood outages street by street, showing where the network held and where it did not — and what has been rebuilt since. The panel with Albury City Council and two local practice managers was the most-discussed session of the day.

## Next year

The 2026 forum is already open for registration. Same venue, bigger room.
