# Checking mobile coverage before you switch

How to confirm coverage at your home, work and the places you go most.

Before switching your mobile service, it's worth checking coverage at the places that matter most to you - home, work, and anywhere else you spend a lot of time.

Our mobile service uses the Telstra Wholesale Mobile Network. Its coverage is similar to Telstra's own retail network, but not identical, so use the Telstra Wholesale coverage map on our website rather than Telstra's retail map.

1. **Check our coverage map** - Enter your address to see expected 4G and 5G coverage in your area.
2. **Think about your building** - Coverage maps show predicted outdoor coverage. Indoor coverage can be weaker in buildings with thick walls, metal roofing, basements or apartments deep inside a complex.
3. **Check your phone** - To make calls, your phone needs to support VoLTE (calling over 4G and 5G) and the 700MHz band (band 28) used across much of the network. Most phones sold in Australia in recent years do.
4. **Ask people nearby** - If you know someone on the Telstra network in your area, their experience is a useful real-world check.

If you're not sure coverage will be strong enough at your address, contact us before switching. We'd rather confirm upfront than have you move your number and be disappointed.
