# How to activate your eSIM

How to scan your eSIM QR code, add the plan to your phone and get connected, usually within a few minutes.

An eSIM is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of inserting a card, you activate it by scanning a QR code.

1. **Check your email** - After you sign up, we'll email your eSIM QR code, usually within a few hours during business hours.
2. **Connect to Wi-Fi** - Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi before you start.
3. **Scan the QR code** - In your phone's mobile settings, choose to add an eSIM, then scan the code. It's easiest to display the code on another device or a printed copy.
4. **Follow the on-screen prompts** - Your phone downloads and activates the eSIM automatically, which usually takes a few minutes.

If your phone can't scan the code, most phones let you enter the eSIM details manually instead. Contact us and we'll provide them.

Each eSIM QR code can usually only be used once. If something interrupts the process, contact us for a new code rather than scanning it again. Don't delete the eSIM from your phone unless you're sure you no longer need it - a replacement eSIM may incur a SIM charge.
