> How to review a business that smashes your expectations and leaves the best the competition can do in an archaic time? I waited 17 days for Telstra to deliver me a modem for my business and every time I called they had no progress. I decided I had enough, I call Lightning IP and within 30 minutes I had internet setup at my premises. Seriously ridiculous customer service. It's customer service you can get from small, privately owned business. If I could give them 50/5 I would.

> Our business and our own customers alike have been using Lightning IP for the past 3 years now and I can honestly say that they are the best provider in the market, especially when you want a localised contact. The customer service they provide is top-notch, their network reliability is excellent, and the prices they offer are very competitive. Not to mention, they offer a variety of packages to suit any size business.

> After having constant drop out issues with other larger big name suppliers I made the switch to Lightning IP. The last months has been absolutely brilliant compared to the others. Yes we still have the odd drop out here and there, but not like before when we were having up to 7 or 8 daily or even more. We now seem to maybe get 1 or 2 very short ones in a week. For anyone in business in the area that needs reliable internet and awesome back up service. Get onto Lightning IP.

> After scouring posts on FB community pages for ISP recommendations, Lightning IP kept being mentioned as the 'go to'. I decided 'why not support local?', and I am SO glad I did! I was able to switch over my ISP easily online, and access technical support with Daniel the SAME day, pick up a new modem at quite literally an unbeatable price - and I am getting faster internet for the same price I was with our last ISP!

## Frequently asked questions

### What is an eSLA?

An enhanced service level agreement (eSLA) is a commitment between us and your business about how quickly faults are fixed. It gives you faster rectification of faults within our control, and a wider window of time during which those faults can be worked on.

An SLA sets restoration targets rather than guaranteeing zero downtime. If your business can't tolerate any downtime, pair your plan with a backup connection.

### What speeds can I expect during business hours?

A plan's speed tier is the theoretical maximum speed of the line connecting your premises to the nbn™. The speeds you actually experience, particularly during busy periods, depend on demand across the network and your in-office setup.

Typical business hour speed is the average speed experienced by a representative group of users between 9am and 5pm. It is not a guaranteed minimum, and past performance is not an indication of future speed.

### What is the minimum term?

There is no minimum term. All of our plans are month-to-month, so you are never locked in. You can upgrade, downgrade, suspend, or cancel your service at any time without penalty fees.

### Can I add a backup connection?

Yes. Our 4G Backup Service keeps your site online on the Optus mobile network while your fixed internet service is down. It's sold alongside a Lightning IP internet service at the same premises, includes a 10 GB soft limit each billing period, and we waive excess usage caused by a genuine outage.

Failover isn't instant or seamless - existing connections drop while it switches over - so talk to our team about whether it suits your site.

### What is a Static IP address?

A static IP address is an optional add-on that permanently assigns a fixed public IP address to your connection. It is particularly useful for remote access, running servers or VPNs, and certain business applications. Contact our team to add this to your plan.

### Are there any additional charges?

Depending on the service ordered, there may be additional up-front charges, which are set out in our [terms and policies](/terms-and-policies). These can include phone line activation, copper line installation, lead-in or additional cabling, equipment, missed appointment fees and complex on-site work.

nbn Co may also charge a one-off new development fee for deploying network infrastructure to new premises.
