How to listen to your voicemail messages
How to dial in and listen to new voicemail messages from your Lightning IP mobile, and the keys to use while a message is playing.
When you get a new voicemail, you'll usually see a notification or receive an SMS letting you know.
- Dial 101 Or open your phone app and tap the voicemail button.
- Enter your PIN if asked You usually won't need it when calling from your own phone.
- Listen and manage your messages Follow the voice prompts to play, save, replay or delete each message.
Messages are kept for up to 14 days and then deleted automatically, so listen to anything important soon after it arrives.
If you're not getting notifications for new voicemails, check that voicemail is turned on and your calls are set to divert to it - see our guide on turning voicemail off and on. On an iPhone, also check that Apple's Live Voicemail is turned off, as it records messages on your phone instead of sending them to 101.
