Faster isn't automatically better. The right speed tier depends on how many people are online at once and what they're actually doing.

Start with concurrent usage, not headcount

A 10-person office where everyone's on video calls simultaneously needs more bandwidth than a 20-person office doing mostly email and light browsing.

Rough guide by team size

  • 1–5 people: A solid business-grade connection with good upload speed covers video calls, cloud tools and file sharing comfortably.
  • 6–15 people: Look at higher download and upload tiers, especially if you're using cloud-based phone systems or heavy file transfers.
  • 16+ people: Consider a dedicated business-grade service with guaranteed speeds, plus a backup connection for continuity.

Don't forget upload speed

Video calls, cloud backups and VoIP all depend heavily on upload bandwidth — a plan with fast downloads but weak uploads will still feel sluggish in meetings.

When in doubt, ask

We'd rather walk you through your actual usage pattern than sell you the fastest tier available. Most small businesses are well served by a mid-tier plan with reliable uptime, not the top-of-the-range option.
