What to do if your nbn service has been down for several days
Steps to take when your nbn service has been down for longer than a short dropout.
A short dropout is common, but a service that stays down for more than a day needs a fault lodged with us so it can be investigated and escalated with nbn Co.
- Rule out simple causes Check your power and cables, restart your modem and nbn equipment, and check our network status page for known issues.
- Contact us to lodge a fault We'll run remote tests on your connection to narrow down where the problem is.
- Technician visit if needed If the fault is in the nbn network or equipment, we'll book an nbn technician to investigate and repair it.
- Stay updated We'll keep you informed of progress until the fault is fixed.
If you rely on your connection for a phone service, especially for medical or safety reasons, tell us when you report the fault. A mobile phone is the most reliable backup while your service is down.
