Setting up a site-to-site VPN over your nbn connection
What to consider when connecting multiple business locations securely.
A site-to-site VPN lets two or more business locations securely share a private network connection over the public internet, commonly used to link a head office and branch sites.
What you'll typically need
A compatible business-grade router or firewall at each site capable of establishing the VPN tunnel, and in most cases a static IP address at each end so the connection can be reliably re-established.
Where nbn fits in
Your nbn connection simply provides the internet path the VPN tunnel runs over - the VPN itself is configured on your networking equipment, usually by your IT provider.
If your VPN needs to stay up reliably for business operations, a higher-tier nbn plan with a static IP and good typical evening speed will give the most stable result.
