Porting your phone number to your new nbn connection
How to keep your existing home or business phone number when you move to nbn, what to tell us and how long the port usually takes.
If you have an existing home phone number you want to keep, we can usually port it across to a phone service running on your new nbn connection.
- Provide your current details We'll need your existing phone number and the name of your current provider.
- Authorise the port You'll confirm you're the account holder (or authorised to port on their behalf).
- We submit the port request This is coordinated with your nbn connection so your number transfers with minimal disruption.
- Confirmation We'll let you know once the port is complete and your number is active on the new service.
Don't cancel your old service until the port is confirmed complete - cancelling early can cause you to lose the number permanently.
